Allianz Partners launches EU Top-Up Plan – a first of its kind offering in the global health insurance industry.

22, November 2023

Allianz Partners has today announced the launch of its newest offering, EU Top-Up Plan. Designed and sold through the company’s international health brand, Allianz Care, this new offering provides employers in Germany an unprecedented opportunity to provide their employees across the EU with enhanced healthcare benefits. Employers can now provide additional cover for a range of selected treatments including dental, optical, and alternative therapies - offerings not typically covered by national healthcare.

Developed in conjunction with Allianz Private Krankenversicherungs-AG (APKV), the pioneering EU Top-Up Plan offers employers flexibility and choice, allowing them to choose the plans that meet their specific needs. Employers can choose between five plans ranging from €300 to €1,500 per person annually. Members are covered up to the maximum benefit limit and there is no medical underwriting or waiting period. Access to Allianz MyHealth Digital Services allows members to manage their policies online, including submitting claims in a few simple steps.

David Myers, Chief Sales Officer, Health at Allianz Partners, commented:  “We are incredibly proud of this innovative product that allows German employers the opportunity to provide additional cover to their EU employee base. What sets the EU Top-Up Plan apart is that it offers a new option for improving healthcare cover, for brokers, employers, and most of all, our members. This latest innovation further underpins Allianz Partners’ commitment to delivering innovative and convenient healthcare solutions for our customers.”
Jan Esser, Chief Product Officer at Allianz Private Krankenversicherung added:  “As a leading provider of occupational health insurance in Germany, we’re delighted this kind of cover is now available EU-wide. Many local companies operate internationally and are often looking for qualified employees for their different locations. Being able to offer additional health benefits to their German and EU-based workforce increases their attractiveness as an employer, allowing them to attract the best applicants.” German-based employees will continue to be insured via APKV´s occupational health insurance.
